Our set of 2 Giti bread baskets are woven from water hyacinth which is a new natural material for our kitchen and pantry collections. Simply braided with handles for serving, this versatile basket is as happy storing the inevitable kitchen odds and ends as it is serving up bread rolls and cheese crackers. Water hyacinth is a river weed in Vietnam, where these baskets are made, so the local weavers we work with are making ingenious use of an unwelcome species in the ecosystem.
